Stewardship and Readiness for the Rapture – Archbishop Dr. Sam Amaga, Foundation Faith Church (Salem Family Worldwide)

By Archbishop Dr. Sam Amaga, Foundation Faith Church (Salem Family Worldwide)
Delivered at: Salem Outpouring Conference Abuja 2025

Introduction: Ministry as Stewardship, Not Ownership

“I used to say to a lot of people, we are separate stewards. It's a stewardship; that's what we're here doing,” Archbishop Sam Amaga began. “Either as a pastor, bishop, elder, or evangelist, we are all stewards. There will be an account required from every steward.”

He emphasized that ministers must take away the idea of “my ministry.” It is not ours—it is God’s assignment entrusted to our care. “It is your responsibility over God's mandate,” he said.

“We are caretakers, but the owner is in heaven. Someday He will come—and very soon.”

Using the Fulani herdsmen as an analogy, Archbishop Amaga explained that they do not own the cattle they tend; they care for what belongs to someone else. Likewise, ministers are caretakers of God’s flock, not proprietors of divine work.

The Renewed Global Focus on the Rapture

The Archbishop noted a prophetic shift: “Have you noticed that the attention of the world, the Christian world worldwide, has shifted to the rapture in the last three months?”

He observed that there has never been a time when the entire global church was so focused on the rapture. Yet, he lamented that some believers have been misled by those assigning specific dates to Christ’s return.

“People went ahead and said the date that rapture will take place. But Jesus said no man knows the day or the hour.”

He recounted a story of a nation where believers moved to the forest awaiting the rapture after hearing a false date prediction. “Your shout won’t bring Jesus,” he said. “He comes at the time the Father has commanded.”

Understanding Jesus’ Words: “No Man Knows the Day or the Hour”

Archbishop Amaga linked Jesus’ statement to the Feast of Trumpets in Israel. “In those days, no man knew the exact day or hour of that feast until two priests sighted the new moon and it was confirmed by a third. That’s why Jesus used that phrase,” he explained.

He warned that in different times, including 1975, groups predicted rapture dates and misled believers into debt and confusion. “Some sold their properties, some gave away their businesses, and when the day passed, they were left ashamed,” he said.

“Our job, pastors, is to show them to be ready — not to predict the time. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. That’s our stewardship.”

Biblical Foundation for Stewardship

Drawing from Colossians 4:17, Archbishop Amaga quoted,
“Say to Archippus, take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfill it.”

“It’s your responsibility,” he stressed, “to give total attention to this ministry. The apostles were impartial and faithful because they were not doing their own thing—they were following divine command.”

Matthew 21:6 – Obedience to Divine Command

“And the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them.” This, he explained, is the model for every servant of God: doing only as Jesus commanded.

“Ministry is not just preaching. Anybody can preach. Ministry is living a life of impact—where your life changes others’ stories.”

The Call to Live Ready

In conclusion, Archbishop Dr. Sam Amaga reminded the audience that readiness is the proof of stewardship. “Live ready,” he repeated, “that’s our stewardship.”

He called on pastors and believers alike to remain faithful in their assignments, not chasing trends or predictions, but living in holiness, watchfulness, and obedience.

Final Thoughts

This message from the Salem Outpouring Conference Abuja 2025 stands as a timely reminder that our service to God is a trust, not a title. True ministers live daily in obedience and readiness for the Lord’s return.
